Testimonials from the Dog Owners

Lavender-scented sheets.... Temperature-controlled SUITES... Roasted Chicken dinners... I'm not describing the amenities at the Hyatt, but what this Dog RESORT has to offer you! That's right, DOG RESORT!

As we pull up, I'm looking around for kennels, cages, or something. Instead I see these small individual mini-homes, at which point I'm confused, seeing that this place is suppose to be for dogs and not people.
When we picked him up the next day, we met the awesome Australian couple who run the resort, who are extremely knowledgeable and hospitable, as is the rest of their staff. It was most evident that Gordo had a blast, despite his obvious separation anxiety. He obviously had such a blast, that not only did he sleep the entire way back home, but was out until the next morning. Something I have never seen before...

They were able to accommodate us at the last minute for dog day care. We arrived to drop off our dog at an impeccably clean and well equipped facility. Our dog, who is usually fairly skittish around new people, was very calm and comfortable when we arrived to pick him up later in the afternoon. He seemed to have had a great stay, and the rate was extremely reasonable.
We will definitely be using Canterbury Tails the next time we bring our dog to Paso Robles. Great job, guys!

The people at the kennel were fantastic!  They seemed to really care about how happy both and I the dog were.  I left them, sobbing all the way down the driveway.  (Silly I know but you should have been there!).   They called me about half an hour later to let me know that my little guy had been put in with some other dogs and was settling down.  That thoughtful call enabled me to stop worrying and relax knowing my little dog was not only happier now, but that he was in the hands of people who genuinely cared about his well-being.
When I went to pick him up the next day, they had moved him to another kennel, to share with a dog they claimed had become his 'soul-mate'.  Apparently they had been best of friends and had kept each other calm all night long.  So cute.

I have two pretty spoiled Labradors who I was hesitant to board while I was out of town.  A friend recommended Canterbury Tails stating they specialized in spoiled dogs :).
Canterbury tails exceeded my expectations...the "resort" was beautiful and the owners very welcoming and friendly.  The cottages are spacious, heated and air conditioned, have wood dog beds, and each dog was welcomed to the cottages with treats on each bed.  The resort also offers doggie day care so my dogs had a nice play area and other dogs to play with during the day.  If your dog does not get along with other dogs, they will open up the play area just for them or take the dog for walks on their property.
